The Fort McMurray Airport Authority is accountable to the communities it serves in the Wood Buffalo region. It is committed to open communication with stakeholders and the public.
The Fort McMurray Airport was incorporated as an Airport Authority in December 2009. The first Airport Authority Board was formed in January 2010 to become the Fort McMurray Airport Authority (FMAA). The newly formed organization acquired the airport from the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) and took the first steps to becoming Canada’s Premier Regional Airport.
