Over 2,500 guests enjoy tricks and treats at YMM

Fort McMurray, AB – The Fort McMurray International Airport (YMM) wishes to thank everyone who participated in the YMM Family Halloween Party on October 23.

Guests explored the YMM terminal trick or treating, enjoying Halloween games and activities along the way. Family memories were captured at the photobooth, while DJ Mike Jones played crowd favourites, and held hourly costume contests.

Thanks to the attendees, 50+ volunteers, Team YMM, Pets and Wellness Society, Community Health Services and Cross My Heart Events, the United Way Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo is one step closer to reaching its annual campaign goal of $3.5M-$4.5M.

Cathy Steeves, Executive Director of the United Way, was thrilled to be part of the event as a volunteer and represent the organization. “We are sincerely grateful for the creativity of Fort McMurray International Airport and their demonstration of community investment at its finest. Everyone at the Family Halloween event had a wonderful time enjoying some high-quality fun.”

CFO and Interim President & CEO of the Airport Authority, Denean Robinson, was thrilled to bring the event back, after two years of cancellation due to pandemic restrictions in place. “Team YMM loves our community, and we enjoy opportunities such as this event to engage with fellow residents and showcase the terminal. YMM is more than an airport connecting Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo to the rest of the world – we are a community hub, equipped to serve the region and bring people together in many ways.”

Fuse Social kindly supported volunteer recruitment and supplied a prize draw, in which all volunteers were entered to win. Congratulations to Stephanie Boland on winning the Balloon Moose Studio birthday balloon package!
